IT’S NOT OVER YET!

While Mother’s Day may be behind us, the window for opportunity is still open for additional orders for special events depending on the schools calendar, many proms are still happening in high schools around the country. Keeping an eye on young fashion gives you a creative edge when it comes to suggestively selling to the Gen Y customers. Whether it is a traditional look of spray Roses or a slightly more fun and flirty look of Dendrobiums and Stephanotis, having the right suggestions instills a trust and excitement between you and the customer. Keep those relationships positive and strong as these are often your future bridal clients of tomorrow.
Also at this time of year are many graduations and lots of parties. Get in contact with your local schools to find out when and who is ordering the flowers for the graduation ceremony. Interacting with the schools often leads to additional orders throughout the rest of the year. Suggest having a Rose or Carnation of the school’s colors for each of the graduates as they leave the stage. Or ask permission to set up a kiosk in the lobby that features single flowers as well as presentation bouquets for the graduates. What father would not love to give his daughter a beautiful bouquet for her friends to admire?
After graduation come the many parties and festivities to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduate. Since many of these are held outside, offer smaller graduation themed centerpieces appropriate in size for smaller backyard venues. Suggest a slightly larger floral styling for the buffet table to coordinate with the rest of the décor. Many florists have put together a package deal where a centerpiece, X number of table centerpieces and a bouquet for the graduate are all included for various incremental price points. It is not too late to market this on your web site and perhaps do an E-blast to your customers. Even those who may not have a graduate this year will share the clever idea when other friends and family.
Looking for creative ways to keep the window for sales opportunities open is what helps extend the selling season beyond the Mother’s Day holiday. Remember, the summer slows are right around the corner, so take and make every opportunity to keep the sales rolling in.
